Michelle Louise O'Kane Blake, 68, of Clinton, Utah, passed away on October 14, 2026, in Layton, Utah.
Michelle was born on February 8, 1958, in Lewiston, Maine, to James Bernard O’Kane and Jeanette Irene LaChapelle. She was known for having the biggest heart of anyone who knew her. She loved her family—immediate, extended, and the friends who became family—with a depth and constancy that defined her. Whether it was a phone call just to check in, an open door when someone needed a place to land, or simply the way she made people feel seen and valued, Michelle gave of herself without reservation.
Michelle was loved beyond measure by her husband, Richard. They met at a nursing home in Maine, where Richard was playing the guitar and singing to the folks there. Michelle worked there as a nurse's assistant. And so their love story began...
They married on April 26th 1975. Together they built a life filled with love. They welcomed 7 children and lived a life full of adventure. Michelle had many jobs in her life, but her favorite was being a mother, wife, and eventually a grandmother.
Michelle passed away peacefully surrounded by all 7 of her children and several of her grandchildren. The day she went home to be with Jesus, she painted the most beautiful sunset.
She was an amazing person and a quiet inspiration to those around her, showing through her actions what it meant to care fully and without condition. Her love was steady, generous, and wide-reaching, and it will be deeply missed.
She is survived by her husband, Richard LeRoy Blake; her children: Rebecca (Randall) Kangas of Battle Ground, Washington; Jesee (Ben) Guay of Longview, Washington; Mandy Becker of Battle Ground, Washington; Matt Blake of Kamas, Utah; Benjamin (Katelynd) Blake of Stansbury Park, Utah; James (Jessica) Blake of Valley View, Texas; and Jonathan (Kerri) Blake of Clinton, Utah; 16 grandchildren; and 4 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by many other family members and friends who cherished her.
