Ben Wayne Forman, 87, of Grantsville, Utah, passed away on October 16, 2026.
Ben was born on October 29, 1938, in Ely, Nevada, to Bernice Francis Buzzetti and Arthur Wayne Forman. He grew up in Ely, a place that remained close to his heart throughout his life.
Ben married the love of his life, Loretta Murdock, on July 2nd, 1976. Together, they raised a family, built a home, shared adventures, and supported one another through life's joys and challenges.
Ben proudly served in the United States Marine Corps and was honorably discharged in 1958. Throughout his life, he worked as a casino pit boss and dealer, trapper, miner, security guard, and power plant maintenance operator. He loved horses, the outdoors, and spending time in the mountains. He often said that the mountains were his church, the place where he felt closest to God. He found peace and happiness there and loved sharing the beauty of the outdoors and his love of horses with his grandchildren and extended family.
Above all, Ben will be remembered for his strength, integrity, kindness, and unwavering devotion to his family. His greatest legacy is the love he gave and the security of knowing that he could always be counted on.
Ben is survived by his beloved wife, Loretta; his daughter, Jennifer; his grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and his siblings Cathy, Candi, and Kaylynn. He was preceded in death by his sons, Ben and John; his parents, Bernice and Arthur; and his siblings Bonnie, Johnny, Richard, and Cheri.
While his family will miss him more than words can express, they find comfort in knowing that he is free from the burdens of this life and reunited with his beloved sons, Ben and John, and the many loved ones who went before him.
A graveside service will be held on October 23, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at the Milford City Cemetery in Milford, Utah.
The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the Grantsville City Police Department, Tooele Valley EMS, Rocky Mountain Care Center Willow Springs, and the hospice team for the compassion, kindness, and care they provided to Ben and his family.
