Stephen Lee Warner, born April 16, 1954, to Leslie L. Warner and Sophia W. Blanchard. He died on January 31, 2025, in Grantsville, Utah, at his home with his wife and his daughter, Saundra, holding his hands. He fought an eight year battle with Epithelioid Angio-sarcoma, a form of soft tissue cancer.
He attended elementary school in Socorro, New Mexico, junior high and high school in Salt Lake City, Utah. He earned a Machinist Certification from Salt Lake Technical College, a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education from Utah State University, and a Master’s Degree in Educational Administration from Brigham Young University.
He served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in The Dusseldorf Central Mission. He also served as a primary teacher, Sunday School teacher, as Second Counselor in a Branch Presidency and Bishopric, as Sunday School President and as a Scoutmaster throughout his life. He loved the Lord and was a disciple of Jesus Christ in that he sought to be helpful to others and live his life according to the teachings of Jesus Christ.
He married Charlyn K. Ennis, on August 19, 1977, in the Salt Lake Temple. He was an educator for 39 years, teaching school at Delta Elementary School, Ibapah Elementary School, Central Elementary School, Northlake Elementary School and Settlement Canyon Elementary School.
As a second job, he drove charter buses for Le Bus, for twenty years. He had many opportunities to meet individuals from all over the world. His very favorite place to drive was to Martin’s Cove, Wyoming. He was able to drive some great individuals to Martin’s Cove. He was able to go with many youth groups and had permission to camp with them. He was able to tell many faith promoting stories that became a very special part of his life. He also served as a translator of German during the 2002 Olympics.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, his children, Kristin Fluckiger (John Michael), Saundra Gotiear, Tiffany Loomis (Rick), Valerie Warner, Cameron Warner (Emily), and Bethany Taylor (Andy). Fourteen grandchildren: Jon Morgan, Patrik, Brenna and Emma Fluckiger, Saadiq Gotiear, Ashley (Tyler) Lanham, Brittany and Adam Loomis, Lawrence, Julian and Victor Warner, Weston, Dela and Jackson Taylor. He had 2 great-grandsons, Beckham and Benson Lanham.
He is also survived by his brothers and sisters, Philip (Nitz) Warner, Gilbert (Heather) Warner, David (Dawn) Warner, Kenneth (Sharon) Warner, Glenn (Susan) Warner, Janet (Matt) Young, and Diana Warner. His mother-in-law Scharlott Ennis, and brothers and sisters in law: Kyle (Maury) Ennis, Joycelyn (Robert) Barber, Tyler (Lorna) Ennis, Taralyn Lewis, Merlin (Mandy) Ennis and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two siblings, Leslie and Elizabeth Warner, who both died in infancy, brother and sister-in-law Roger and Heather Ennis, and Father-in-law, Billy D. Ennis.
His viewing will be held on Saturday, February 8, 2025, from 10:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. His funeral will begin at 1:00 p.m. in the Latter Day Saint Church located at 415 West Apple Street, in Grantsville, Utah. His interment will be in the Grantsville City Cemetery.
