Maxine Koford Smith Allred 1939 - 2024, West Valley, Utah was born in Garland, Utah on February 10, 1939, to Vaughn Wilford Koford and Mahala Marr Ellis. She died surrounded by her loving family on May 15, 2024.
Maxine is survived by six children including Sharlene Skaug (Perry), Ronald Mattinson, Jolene Hales (Brent), Mark Smith (Lori), Sherri Knapp (Greg), and Dirk Smith (Sheila). She had 24 grandchildren, 44 great-grandchildren and 4 great, great-grandchildren. Maxine also has three surviving sisters, Evelyn Brown, Lois Young, and Raylynn Jeffrey.
She was predeceased by her parents, Mahala Marr Koford, Vaughn W. Koford; one brother, Eldon Koford; one sister, Donna Brown; one grandchild, Star Lee Mattinson; and three husbands, Lorin Eugene Mattinson, Richard Joel Smith, and Eugene Max Allred.
Maxine cherished the years that she managed the Union 76 Truck Stop at Lake Point, UT. During the 15 years she worked there, she was beloved and respected by many people including customers, employees, and bosses. She maintained lifelong friendships with many!
There will be a viewing Friday, May 31 in Grantsville, Utah from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the church on 81 N Church Street. There will be an additional viewing and funeral services on Saturday, June 1 in West Valley at the Hunter Village LDS Church at 3450 South 6400 West with the viewing from 11:00 to 11:45 followed by the funeral at noon. Her interment will be at the Grantsville, Utah cemetery that afternoon at 3:00 p.m. The funeral service will be live streamed. Click on the link below to watch:
