Margaret VanNoy died February 18th 2012 at the home of her daughter in Carnation, Washington. Margaret was born January 16th 1926 in Grantsville, UT to William Riley Judd and Bessie Williamson. She met Raymond Demont (Bud) VanNoy when he began attending Grantsville High School after moving from Ogden, Utah. They were married June 11th 1948. They raised two daughters and one son. She has 6 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. They moved from Grantsville to the state of Washington so they could be near their daughter, Robin, and her children.

In the early 60’s Margaret earned her teaching degree and taught high school English at Grantsville High. After teaching herself French she taught French at Grantsville High as well. She was such a popular teacher that some of her students called her Aunt Margaret. She was also in charge of school plays and assemblies. Her wonderful sense of humor made her productions extremely funny and popular with the high school kids.

Margaret was a gifted writer. For many years she wrote a witty newspaper column called “Jus’Talkin”. After retiring from teaching she and Bud began working with the Grantsville’s town plays. She was the director and Bud was the President.

Margaret is survived by her husband, Bud, her sister Claire Hill, her daughters Margaret and Robin (Lorin) Barber, her grandchildren, Todd Barber, Erin (Scotty) Edwards, Brigham Barber, Sundee Barber, Kacee (Josh)Albert, and Megan Barber. Two sons, Bill Ray and David Allen, preceded her in death.

A service will be held Mar 3rd 11am at the LDS Church located at 428 Hale Street Grantsville, Ut. There will be viewing at 10am before the service.
