Margaret "Marge" Moyers, the indefatigable force of love and laughter, bid adieu to this world on May 6, 2024, in Tooele, Utah. Survived by her four children, Michelle (Steve) Pruden, Matthew, Michael (Lori), and Mitchel (Laurie) Moyers. She left behind a legacy as vibrant as the sunsets she cherished. Born in the humble abode of Kanab, Utah, on August 13, 1933, Marge was a true daughter of the West.
Also known as “Smim”, “Mim”, and “Bwana,” her journey through life was marked by a symphony of roles: mother, friend, leader (with too many church callings to count), and beacon of warmth for all who crossed her path. With a twinkle in her eye and a heart as vast as the Utah skies, she nurtured not only her own brood but also the extended family of friends and acquaintances she embraced as her own.
Married to a rapscallion in shining armor, Mark Moyers, on March 31st, 1958, Marge was wooed not just by his charms but by his unwavering love. Together they embarked on a journey filled with trials, success, love, laughter, and the numerous cats and dogs bounding around their California Bay Area homes.
Marge was a polymath of domesticity, mastering the arts of cooking, event planning, sewing, painting, writing, and teaching with the finesse of a seasoned (and oft disciplinarian) maestro. Her home was a canvas where creativity danced freely, leaving behind trails of joy and wonder.
Her passion for music, particularly the croons of Nat King Cole, was infectious. From piano lessons to concerts, stage performances, and old tv performers, she infused her children with a love for melody that reverberates through generations.
But perhaps Marge's greatest talent was her ability to find humor in life's quirks, regaling all with tales of her children's antics and her own misadventures. Ambidextrous by nature, she joked that her brain sometimes struggled to keep up with her dexterous hands. Case in point, she always had a mustard stain on her shirts.
Above all, Marge's heart belonged to her family. Her love knew no bounds, radiating outwards to envelop not just her kin but all who sought solace in her embrace. Her legacy lives on in the laughter of her eleven grandchildren, the mischief of her five great-grandchildren, and the countless lives she touched with her boundless love.
In the tapestry of life, Marge's thread shines bright, a testament to the enduring power of love, laughter, and the indomitable spirit of a woman who lived life to the fullest. Though she may have bid us farewell, her memory will forever remain etched in our hearts, a guiding light in the darkest of nights.
