After a brief battle with leukemia Keith Edward Wanlass returned to his Heavenly Father on Thursday June 28, 2012. Ed was born January 21, 1946 to Keith and Catherine Wanlass, in Salt Lake City Utah. He grew up in Grantsville, Utah. He graduated from Grantsville High School and continued on to play football at Snow College. Ed finished his education at Utah State University.Ed was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints he served a faithful mission in Uruguay. Also served in many leadership and teaching callings. Ed worked many years in law enforcement with both the Ogden Police Department and Tooele County Sheriff Department. After leaving law enforcement he worked as a chemist from Cargill Salt where he retired in 2008. Ed enjoyed camping, rock hounding,and his greatest passion scouting. Ed had many talents including, painting, jewelry making, leatherwork and storytelling. Ed is survived by his wife Pamela K. Degelbeck, daughter Racheal Wanlass-Silva, sons Travis (Charity) Reynolds and Keith Kaed (Adrianna) Wanlass , grandchildren Felicity (Ben) Gotsch, Michael & Brue Silva, Amber, Haley, Landon, Tee Reynolds, two sisters Jan (Terry) Baird, JoAnn (Anthony) Leonelli and many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents, and two younger sisters Julia Kay Wanlass and Jean Bolinder Elwell. Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 6, 2012 at 11:00 am 81 North Church Street Grantsville, Utah with a viewing Thursday evening from 6-8pm also one hour prior to funeral services. Interment will follow at the Grantsville City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Great Salt Lake Boy Scout Council. Services entrusted with Didericksen Memorial 435-277-0050.
