Judd Raynor Lawrence reluctantly left his farm and family on June 15, 2024. Judd was born in Tooele Utah on November 27, 1957 to Elbert Raynor Lawrence and Lois Parkinson Lawrence.
Judd attended Grantsville High School graduating in 1976. He attended Utah State University where he was a member of the Tau Beta Pi engineering honor society. He earned the LeGrand Johnson Construction Company Scholarship as an outstanding civil and environmental engineer. Judd made lifelong friends while attending there, graduating in 1981.
He married Christene Nyberg December 30, 1995, in Grantsville where they have resided since.
Judd started working at Bingham Engineering in 1977 during the summer following his Freshman year of College. He said that he opened the Salt Lake Phone Book and started calling Engineering Firms alphabetically. Bingham happened to be the first one listed. Judd asked if they were hiring summer help, and the rest is history.
A lifelong hobby and passion was the Family Farm. Growing up, the cows and bulls were literally in his backyard. He fed the cattle, planted and harvested alfalfa, grain, and corn and learned how to fix and repair all types of farm equipment. He also loved hearing, reading, and writing Cowboy Poetry.
Judd served on the Water Board of Grantsville Irrigation Company for many years, and he was the City Engineer for the City of South Jordan.
Judd is survived by his wife Christene. His siblings, Annalyn (Dodd) Greer, Jeane (Alex) Robinson, Elliot (Gracelyn) Lawrence.
