Jeffery Maurice Winder graduated from his earthly life Tuesday, October 29th, 2024, after a courageous 6-year battle against colon cancer. Jeff was born in St. George, Utah to Doris (Hafen) and Maurice Winder on March 30th, 1973. He was raised in Santa Clara, Utah with five siblings: Philip, Craig, Jamie, Samantha, and Crystal. He worked on his Grandpa and Grandma Hafen’s farm and loved every minute of it. A little too much at times when driving his Grandpa’s truck at a young age and feeding the pigs jello. Working on the farm shaped Jeff into an amazing man. He learned hard work, patience, and honesty which benefited him for the rest of his life.
Jeff graduated from Dixie High School and attended Dixie College. In 1992-1994, he served a valiant mission in Germany for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. After returning home, he was married to his first wife for a short time and had a son named David. His 25+ year career of working as a manager at Walmart Distribution centers began at this time. Later in life, he worked at FedEx as a manager for a short time before he was no longer physically able.
In 2002 he met the love of his life Rebecca Beaumont and asked her to marry him while on one elbow on the St. George Temple grounds. They were married within four months on December 6, 2002, in the St. George Temple for Time and Eternity. Together they made a wonderful and joyous life together raising their five children: Natalia (20), Kanyon (18), Kahlia (14), Tayia (12), and Zurayia (10). Jeff will be remembered as an amazing family man, who is wholly devoted to his wife and their children. He is a loving husband, father, son, brother, and uncle. His enthusiasm, humor, and integrity will be missed dearly among those who love him.
Jeff enjoyed cooking, fishing, hunting, reading, camping, old cars, gardening, tomatoes, pecans and being with his wife and kids, and teasing those he loved. If you were teased by Jeff, consider yourself loved. Jeff is the kind of man you want your daughters to marry. He helped around the house with cleaning, cooking, and putting kids to bed. He loved being home with his family. He honored his callings in the church, especially as a primary teacher, and the primary kids all loved him. His faith in Jesus Christ never faltered, not even after doing over 80 chemo treatments and dealing with multiple side effects. He faced treatments head-on because it meant more time with his family. He was brave and courageous for doing so many chemo treatments. His wife and children are honored and privileged to call him Sweetie and Daddy.
