Gary "Shorty" Sutton

Gary L. Sutton (Shorty), age 86, passed away peacefully on January 5, 2025, in Tooele, Utah. Gary was born on May 12, 1938 in Grantsville, Utah. He graduated from Grantsville High School and continued his education at the University of Utah. He graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics. Gary's career was with the US Government where he retired from Dugway Proving Grounds.

Gary was an avid outdoorsman and loved to hunt and fish with many trophies to show his adventures. His favorite pastime was cheering on the Utah Jazz and U of U football games.

Gary is survived by his daughter, Cindy Ekins (Jeff); his grandchildren, Chad Wells (Schantelle), Aubrey Wells, and Jeremy Wells (Jill); and six great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife, Mary Annette Dick Sutton; parents, Claude and Emma Sutton; and his six siblings.

A grateful thank you to Gary's special lady for being there for him the past 30 years. Also, to Rocky Mountain Care - Willow Springs facility for all their help and care.

A family viewing will be held at the Didericksen Memorial in Grantsville on January 10, 2025, at 1:00 PM. A graveside dedication will be held at 2:00 at the Grantsville Cemetery.
