Gary Buhl

Our loving husband, father, grandfather and friend, Gary Lynn Buhl returned to the loving arms of ourHeavenly Father on June 24, 2020. Gary was born on August 8, 1955, the first of five children to Gunther Buhl and Jesse Jean Holmes. Gary grew up in Sandy Utah and enjoyed working with his parents, at the service station during summers from age 12 on. He also enjoyed spending time doing fun activities with his family outings. He enjoyed his hunting sessions with his grandfather and uncles. He graduated from Jordan High School, and faithfully served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Anaheim, California.

Gary met and married his eternal sweetheart Mary Jean Bloxham in August of 1978 in the Salt Lake Temple. They were able to spend 41 wonderful years together. Their love brought forth 7 children, and 14 grandchildren.

Gary was a gentle loving soul, a hard worker, a selfless man. Gary was a man of few words and worked hard to provide for his greatest treasures in life, his children. He could be funny and loved giving a good scare. Gary loved working with his hands, woodworking and building and creating many projects and loved John Wayne movies. He loved going fishing, camping, and helping others and having a great time. He was known for his devotion to his family. His greatest joy was his family and spending time and playing with his grandkids. He instilled in his children to work hard, to serve others and to give to others.

Gary is a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He served in many areas including primary teacher, sunday school teacher, Elders Quorum and High Priest Leaders and Ward Clerk and Membership Clerk. Gary has a testimony of our Savior Jesus Christ, and knew the gospel to be true. He knew that families are forever, and knew the power of the atonement of Jesus Christ. There is no way to measure the impact and love he had on his family, and the legacy he leaves behind.

Gary is survived by his sweetheart Jean, Justin (Samantha) Buhl, Mary Jo (Randy) Terry, Camille (Ben) Shinkle, Travis Buhl, Treavor (Kaylie) Buhl, Cris Buhl, Jeanne (Trace) Adkins and 14 grandchildren. His brother Mike (Karen) Buhl, sisters Laurie (Wade) Pulham, Nancy Schreiver and Sandra (Kenny) Bloomquist. He is preceeded in death by his parents Gunther and Jesse Jean Buhl, his inlaws Von and Mary Lois Bloxham.
