David Joe Hyde, 75, of Grantsville, Utah, passed away peacefully in his sleep on July 12, 2024. Born on June 4, 1949, in Eureka, Utah, he was the beloved son of the late Margaret and George Hyde. David's life was marked by his devotion to his family, his faith, and his community.
David graduated from Tintic High School and furthered his education at the Sheet Metal Union #312 School. His career spanned over 38 years with the Sheet Metal Union #312, where he also dedicated 24 years to teaching the apprentices. David's commitment to his craft and to nurturing the next generation of tradesmen was evident in his passion for teaching and his meticulous work.
A devout member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, David actively participated in his church community, embodying the values of service and community support.
David's life outside work was filled with a variety of hobbies. At 14 he earned his Eagle Scout Award with the Boy Scouting Organization. He was an avid motorcycle racer, a trainer of championship dogs, and enjoyed hunting, fishing, archery, and carpentry. Each of these activities reflected his love for adventure and love of the outdoors.
He is survived by his wife, Connie; his children, Annette, Jereme, Gordon (Wanda), and Mary (Anthony); 14 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and his brother Richard (Sue). David was preceded in death by his parents, his sister JaNette, his son-in-law Matt, and his grandson Ethan.
A celebration of David's life will be held at 550 E Durfee St, Grantsville, Utah, at 12 PM on Thursday, July 18th. There will be a family visitation before the service at 11 AM. His life was a testament to his resilience, kindness, and impact he had on those around him. David will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him.
