Darlene Pacheco-Hill

Darlene Y. Pacheco-Hill passed away Wednesday, February 28, 2018 from a heart attack and complications related to COPD. Darlene was born 1/23/1967, the fifth child, to Rita Santos and Robert “Pepo” Pacheco of Tooele, UT and raised along with her immediate siblings, four step siblings and numerous relatives.

Most of her life was spent in Tooele with her dad. At an early age she became mother of three and together with the help of family and relatives raised her daughters Bernadette, Melanie and Angela.

In the late 1990’s Darlene met the love of her life, Ritchie Hill, and together had a fourth daughter, Laticia. Before long Darlene, Ritchie and Laticia moved to White River, Arizona. Unexpectedly, Ritchie passed away in 2011. Darlene and Laticia returned to Tooele and reunited with her daughters and grandchildren. Short in stature - Darlene had a big heart and was continually joking with all she came in contact with. Not shy in any way, she acknowledged the challenges she experienced in life and in her failing health. Her radiant smile and carefree lifestyle uplifted everyone. Darlene also had a short nickname of “Dar”. Darlene’s greatest love was for her ten grandchildren – most of whom soon out grew her – which she was fortunate to be with almost daily. With out a doubt, her memory will live on in the lives of all that knew her.

Proceeded in death by husband Ritchie Hill, brothers Tony Maestas, Delfino Pacheco; sisters Barbara Sue Pacheco, Shirley Pacheco-Gourley Entze; daughter Bernadette; Grandparents Albert and Margaret Pacheco, and Sam and Jenny Maestas, Darlene is survived by her parents, Rita (Felipe) Santos and Robert “Pepo” Pacheco; sisters Ruth (Greg) Dunn, Diana Petersen and brothers Mike Mair, Albert Valdez, Dominic (Ashley) Pacheco; daughters Melanie Pacheco, Angela Pacheco and Laticia Hill and her ten grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Thursday, March 8, 2018 starting with visitation from 11:00 am to 11:45 am, and celebration of the holy mass at 12:00 noon followed by a luncheon. All services will be at St. Marguerites Catholic Church in Tooele. Donations towards the luncheon can be coordinated with Melanie at 435-849- 3718 or Daniel at 801-244- 2048 In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the “Pacheco Family Fund” at any Chartway Federal Credit Union.
