Daniel Clay Cummings (50) of Marion, Utah endured valiantly to the end and returned with honor to his Heavenly Father whom he loved and served. Dan succumbed to cancer on December 26, 2020 at the Heber Valley Dialysis Center in Heber City. He fought bravely and left as a champion.
Born July 7, 1970 (7/7/70) Daniel always considered himself very blessed and lucky. He was the middle child of five children born to Clay H. and Marlene Hunt Cummings. He was truly a beacon of light in the lives of all who knew and loved him. His lifelong interest, respect, kindness and compassion for others were a trademark of who he was.
He was raised in Fillmore and was taught to be industrious and hard-working. He graduated from Millard High School where he excelled and was honored to be elected student body president. He was a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, not only in the Pennsylvania, Pittsburgh Mission but also in his daily life through the way he lived. Daniel graduated from Utah State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Hygiene and went on to earn a Master’s Degree from Tulane.
Daniel and his beautiful wife, Robyn Eborn, were married and sealed for time and all eternity in the Salt Lake Temple on August 31, 2000. They are the parents of four children, Lauren (18), Drew (16), Elli (13) and Bowen (10). He loved his family dearly. Willing to endure any hardship, Dan wanted more than anything to live long enough to help raise his children.
In addition to his immediate family, Daniel is survived by his parents, his siblings, Jolynn Peterson (Erik), Darin Ray Cummings (Becky), Jana Sue Johnson (Jason), sister-in-law Staci Cummings Smith, and his kidney donor Morgan (Amber) Christensen. Those greeting him joyously beyond the veil are his brother Kevin, his grandparents, nephew, cousins, aunts, uncles, and friends.
Dan will forever be our hero. He leaves a legacy of love: love of the Lord, love of family, love of others, and love of life.
